Keene on a move?
The new year brought interest in Elfsborg forward James Keene with both Djurgården and English League One outfit AFC Bournemouth looking at a possible move for the ex-GAIS and Portsmouth hitman.
After performing well during 2011 pre-season, Keene began the campaign being largely used from the bench as Elfsborg changed their tactics.
A mid-season move to Norwegian club Fredrikstad FK saw Keene make 8 appearances as he helped the club to a third place finish, scoring twice in the process.
Keene confirmed to Blågul Fotboll that while there has been interest in him, both he and Elfsborg are yet to receive a concrete offer. It’s increasingly likely, however, that Keene will soon be changing clubs and looking to kick-start his career in 2012 after a frustrating 2011 with other clubs across Scandinavia keeping an eye on developments.
