2012 fixtures announced
The 2012 Allsvenskan kicks-off on the weekend of 31 March with the stand-out game being Elfsborg at home to Djurgården. Reigning champions Helsingborg travel to Norrköping as they look to be the first team to win back-to-back titles since Djurgården tasted Gold success in 2002 and then 2003. 2010 champions Malmö will host Gefle while new boys to Allsvenskan, the returning Sundsvall, will host Kalmar. Fellow new boys Åtvidaberg, who were promoted after winning Superettan, will travel Örebro. AIK start their last season at Råsunda hosting Mjällby before they move to the Swedbank Arena in 2013.
The first Tvillingderbyt of the season takes place on 7 May when AIK host Djurgården while Malmö host Helsingborg in the Skånederby on 19 May followed by the Gothenburg derby between GAIS and IFK on 21 May.
The final round of games before the break for Euro 2012 will take place on 24 May before action resumes on 30 June.
Helsingborg, who swept the board last season, will host AIK in the Supercupen, the season curtain raiser, on 24 March.
Following their relegation from Allsvenskan, Trelleborg open the Superettan season on 6 April when they host Ängelholm, who were defeated in the promotion play-offs last season by Syrianska. Hammarby, and new manager Gregg Berhalter, will host the other relegated club, Halmstad, on the opening weekend in a game that will be preceded by the final march by Bajen fans from Medborgarplatsen to Söderstadion before the club move to their new home in 2013.
Landskrona will look to improve upon a poor showing in 2012 but have a difficult start when they host Brommapojkarna on the opening weekend of the season. The two promoted teams start life in the Superettan on the road with Umeå making the long trip south to Falkenberg and Varberg travel to Värnamo.
